A fundamental shift
When Winston Churchill visited Russia during WWII, he saw for the first time a faucet that merged the hot and cold water into one spigot to create warm water. He went back to England and had all his faucets converted. That faucet was a fundamental improvement, a fundamental shift in faucet design.
The Affluence™ Seamless Sink is a fundamental shift in sink design. It has brought the world three firsts:
- A seamless, sanitary sink bottom
- Strainer baskets that seal both the drain and disposer side of a sink.
- A universal mounting system that cuts the install by 20 to 60 minutes. (The "90 second install" can be viewed at www.SeamlessSink.com. )
The traditional drain flange, disposer flange and disposer plug are now obsolete:
The new way for 2009+:
The clean look, ease of installation, more secure seal, and strainer baskets that also seal the disposal side are fundamental improvements. We are proud to present this fundamental shift in sink design.
Development
Developing this seamless concept took years of intense focus. Experts aided the inventor in perfecting the stamping tools, sink molds, materials and manufacturing process. Sink manufacturers stated many times the seamless stamping method could not be done, that the steel could not take the stress. But Mark Melson, second generation steel stamping expert, overruled their critiques and was invaluable in developing the tooling and further refinements to the manufacturing process.
The most common quote from plumbers is "Sinks should have been made this way all along". And they ask why we did not take the idea to Kohler, Elkay, Houzer, Franke, the major manufacturers? The answer is we did. But the manufactures did not share our enthusiasm for a seamless and sanitary sink bottom and they all kindly told us to go on our way. Some reasons given were:
- Sinks have been this way for 50 years, nobody's complaining, why change.
- It means a whole new line of inventory and we already have six.
- The institutional memory of plumbers was too strong. It will take 5 years for them to get it.
- We are in the sink business, not the disposer attaches to sink business.
We believe individuals, looking for an intelligent choice, will choose Affluence Seamless Sink and reward us for our perseverance.
Concept
The seamless concept was invented and patented by Dan Sullivan and his design firm, Create Good, LLC . The name serves as a simple philosophy. To elaborate, the more harmonious one is with creating and leveraging good, the more good flows.
Currently in development at Create Good, LLC is a beautiful new concept in toilets, a simplification of shower heads, and a new portable canopy.
About the inventor
Dan comes from a long line of plumbers. His great Uncle Owen was a founder of the Pipefitters Union. A grandfather, 3 uncles, and brother-in-law are all pipefitters and plumbers.
As an inventor, Dan has a few favorite quotes that sustain him.
